Happy Monday! Today I’m finally sharing with you some pictures I took during my day trip to Mansheya in Alexandria. It was super hot but I was determined to get some shopping done before all of the Ramadan decorations disappeared completely. This place is usually slammed with tourists, and during peak times there isn’t even space to move it becomes so crowded! If you go early enough you can see a different side of Mansheya with mostly empty streets and new views of small alleyways that are usually too crowded to even see anything. Seeing mansheya in the morning is much more manageable, especially as a tourist!
This market is a maze of literally anything you could ever want or need. Whole streets are dedicated to a certain item. You can wander through gold and silver jewelry shops then turn a corner to a street filled with children’s toys. Turn another corner and you will find textiles and spices and tailors and… the list goes on! The best part is that you can find fantastic prices compared to other places in the city. Don’t be afraid to barter as that is the name of the game here. With so many shops you will for sure find something that you like. Their jewelry prices in particular are fabulous.
I had a ton of fun and I managed to pick up a few Ramadan decorations for next year. More Egypt exploration coming soon… enjoy the rest of your week!
