Attention all chocolate lovers! Have you ever thought of putting chocolate on your face? Not only is chocolate delicious, but cacao powder can actually be very beneficial for your skin. Filled with antioxidants to repair damaged skin, it softens skin beautifully while protecting you from free radicals. With all these potential benefits, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the Missha Facial Choco Cacao Scrub!
Let’s be serious – the main attraction here is a chocolatey scrub! I know I can’t resist chocolate in any form, so picking up this facial choco cacao scrub was a given. I had stopped in a Missha store when they were having super sales, so I even picked up two jars of this facial choco cacao scrub. I figured even if it didn’t show apparent effects after use, pampering myself with a chocolate mask every once in awhile isn’t a bad idea at all. 😉
This scrub has a very simple design when it comes to packaging with a plain glass jar and gold cap. Right away, I noticed that this facial choco cacao scrub didn’t come with a plastic spoon like a lot of skin care products that come in jars. For sanitary reasons, I don’t like any of my skin care to come in jars because of easy contamination. I always have extra plastic spoons from other products so I just used one of those to avoid having to stick my finger in the jar each time I use it. This scrub is thick and smells like a chocolatey dream! I was so excited when I opened it up and got my first whiff, it literally smells and looks like a jar of chocolate.
Although this facial choco cacao scrub looks and smells like chocolate, it isn’t edible. It can be a little confusing because the description says that it is made with edible cacao, but the jar advises you that the scrub itself isn’t edible. So even if you feel the urge to have a taste, hold yourself back! 😉
The exfoliation in this scrub is very gentle, so it is suitable for sensitive skin. It stays thick even after you apply it to your face and can be a little difficult to get off. I left it on my face for a few minutes to prep my skin and then gently massaged it for a few minutes before rinsing it off. I loved the feeling of the scrub on my face and it smelled heavenly! After I rinsed it off, my skin didn’t feel dry at all. Very refreshing!
I can’t say much about an immediate effect after using this scrub, but I can say that this product is good for long-term skincare issues like repairing the skin. My skin was definitely softer after using this as with most exfoliating scrubs. It smells divine and is a scrub that I could see being the highlight of an at-home spa night with the girls. This facial cacao scrub would be on my list for sure! Nothing says relaxation like slathering some chocolate on your face, right? 😉
