I’m really excited to tell everyone about this awesome BzzCampaign that I was invited to join around a month ago. I actually saw these candies in Staples when I was buying some supplies for the classroom a few months ago and although I didn’t buy it, I was intrigued by the company’s statement of candy that is “unjunked”. When I got the invite for this, I was excited to try it!
UNREAL is a candy brand created by a boy named Nicky who realized that candy had a lot of ingredients in it that made it a not so good treat. After finding this information, he set out on a mission to unjunk the candy he loves by taking out artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives, corn syrup, GMOs, excessive sugar, and partially hydrogenated oils.
That sounds great to me! I’ve personally cut out high fructose corn syrup from my own diet so I was totally on board for this candy line.
The peanut butter cups were the candy that I was after. I love peanut butter! Each cup had a cool geometric UNREAL design on the bottom which I thought was a nice touch.
I tried all of the candy, and overall, I was impressed. I won’t lie, they definitely don’t taste as delicious as the other stuff. However, for an all natural candy this can’t be beat! They were still very delicious. The PB cups have a natural peanut butter taste which hit the spot for me.
The other candies that I tried were:
- Chocolate Caramel Nougat Bar
- Choclate Caramel Peanut Nougat Bar
- Candy Coated Chocolates with Peanuts
They were all pretty good. Like I said before, the taste is definitely different from other brands so don’t expect the same thing. Each candy has it’s own number which I found odd and confusing. I can’t really remember the numbers for each description so I don’t really see the need. Rather, I just think of it as the M&M one, the one that tastes like Snickers, etc.
These candies were very affordable. I found them at my local CVS for $1 each, which was a steal for the ingredient list! I think I will be sticking with this brand in the future when I have my chocolate craving.
Have you tried UNREAL brand candy? What did you think?
