Whew, so busy! I’ve been meaning to post this sneak peak and review of Zahra Gift Baskets for a few weeks now, but because of my busy schedule with the kinders, I have been too exhausted to post anything!
I’m really happy to introduce this company called Zahra Gift Baskets. I found their Facebook page about a month ago while browsing, and I was really impressed with their cute baskets. The thing that hooked me in was that they work with very poor Muslims and help them train in their craft to make many of the products for the basket. That is awesome! I sent an email to the owner asking about her business, and she graciously sent me a small sampling of the “Cooking Mama” basket to check out. 🙂
The first thing I found when I got the basket was this adorable card with a hadith on it. This hadith is pretty well known, about giving gifts between each other promoting love and good relations. A lovely thing to see on a gift! I like that the basket has useful things with a touch of Islamic values attached.
The next thing I found in my basket was this Halal Menu Planner. This is actually really useful for me, because I decided to cook food during the week solely by using a menu planner. Without it, I just end up eating junky food and never setting out the time to be sure I have all the ingredients needed for what I want to cook as well as the time needed to prepare it. So I sit once a week to extensively plan out my meals. The booklet was very cute and had a lot of paper inside.
The next item was this Halal Grocery Planner. A nice companion to the menu planner! 🙂
I thought this was super cute and a great gift to give someone who is just learning to cook or pursuing an interest in cooking.
The last three items that were sent for my sneak peak were a set of recipe cards, a miniature cookbook, and a bookmark. First things first, the bookmark is extremely adorable! I will definitely be using this. I have tons of cookbooks lying around that I need to delve into. I buy them all of the time, but rarely use them. This bookmark sort of inspired me to bookmark one recipe that I find interesting each week and to make it! Otherwise, all of the books are going to waste.
The recipe cards and recipe book were a nice touch to the basket. The recipes in the book are a mix of western and Indian food. There were quite a few recipes in there that I was interested in trying. The cards are cute and really good quality. I don’t personally write recipes on cards, but my friend does so these will be going to her.
The basket also came with a basic white dishtowel. This basket was just a sneak peak, and the full basket contains much more. Some items that come in this basket that I didn’t receive were: a plastic mixing bowel, a matching pen, IKEA Mixa wooden spoon set, peeler, strainer, IKEA alarm clock, kitchen towel, stainless steel spoon, scouring pad, pair of pot holders, kitchen table mat (size: 19″ by 19″), a fancy crochet mat, a kitchen decoration apple, and a gift card with a personalized message. That is a lot of stuff, so this basket is fully loaded as a gift option.
Zahra Gift Baskets has many more options for gift baskets on their website. I really loved the different baby baskets available. You can check out their facebook page to see all of the varieties for purchase.
