This is such a long overdue haul post. I’m sure you are all curious about what I picked up at the Seoul Health and Beauty Expo! I didn’t have a ton of money so I didn’t go crazy. I still managed to pick up a few nice things as well as a ton of freebies! This post took a little longer because I had to do a little research on what I got… unfortunately there wasn’t much English support so I was guessing a little bit when I did my shopping. It doesn’t help that a lot of Korean websites have all their text as a graphic so I can’t even try to google translate it. 🙁

- Saeang Anti-Acidity Herbal Shampoo (8,000₩)
- Bag of Black Salt (free)
- Hanamai Beauty Pomegranate Collagen Drink (free)
- Welbas Natural Camellia Fudge Soap (2 bars for 5,000₩)
- Wessen Boar Bristle Brush (6,000₩)
- Wessen Dry Body Brush (6,000₩)
- A ton of free samples!
The free samples were pretty sweet. There were so many booths with handmade soaps and they usually had a little piece that you could take for free. I’m not really into handmade soaps that much, so I just grabbed a few. There were so many beauty companies handing out packets left and right… small packets, but still free! There was a cool booth for an Indonesian company named Dewi Sri Spa that gave me an amazing body scrub… I actually wanted to purchase something from them but they sold out! What a bummer.
I grabbed a few bars of soap from Welbas because it was sooo cheap, but I regretted it later. The smell is very strong and they started to disform and turn a little brown before I even used them once! The bag of black salt is a little bit of a mystery because the guy at the booth spoke no English… he said I could eat it so I suppose that is the purpose? I’ve never heard of black salt before… he was actually selling it originally but gave away the rest of it as the expo was closing.
I wasn’t expecting this but… the Hanamai Beauty Collagen drink was amazing! I’ve tried a lot of collagen products and I just can’t stand the taste. I actually enjoyed this. I wish I knew where I could get it because nothing comes up when I search online and I haven’t seen it anywhere else here in Seoul. Seriously unfortunate. The lady was selling these too but she just handed me a couple and wouldn’t take any money. I think you have to hit up the expos on the last day near closing to hit the jackpot for freebies, haha.
The Saeang Anti-Acidity shampoo was another rogue purchase because I’m not entirely sure of what it is supposed to do. I was just out of shampoo so I grabbed one… pretty cheap for such a huge bottle! It had a picture of the Korean hairstyle you see from decades ago, all shine and perfect so I decided to give it a try. It does a good enough job but it’s not really special in my opinion. No idea about the acid part either! The joys of living in Korea I guess… sometimes you just have no idea what you are buying. 🙂
My last purchase from the Seoul Health and Beauty Expo was a boar bristle brush and dry body brush from Wessen. The lady at this booth was super nice and threw in a few clips with my purchase. I’m in love with my body brush! My skin has never looked better. If you are thinking of trying dry brushing, I would really encourage you to do so! 😉
And that’s it~
