Now that the weather is warmer, it’s smoothie time! 😀
I just love when that warm weather finally hits and I can bust out my Birkenstock sandals and switch over to iced coffee instead of hot. And fruit? Undoubtedly one of the best parts about the weather getting warmer. Don’t get me wrong, eating fruit in the winter is fine and all but it just hits the spot when the weather is warm! Especially when you can blend it all up into an ice cold smoothie! I’ve been loving this almond milk smoothie because it’s easy on my tummy. I’ve noticed recently that I’m becoming slightly intolerant to milk. An almond milk smoothie is a perfect alternative!
Now that the weather is warming up it’s time to enjoy my favorite fruit the strawberry! Nothing will beat Japan and Korea’s strawberries (they were like candy so good!) but American strawberries are still pretty darn tasty as spring starts to come to a close and summer starts up. Who can resist their shiny red glow?
Another favorite fruit of mine is pear. My grandpa was a huge fan his whole life and would eat several a day. When I was little, I remember he used to buy and hide pears in his chair where he would watch TV because my Grandma scolded him for eating too many pears. It’s a funny story I still remember today, me and my Grandpa’s secret. He would fish one of of the crease while winking at me. He really loved his pears!
This smoothie is a combination of my favorite strawberry and pear. An almond milk smoothie is a great non-dairy option. It tastes lovely with almond milk, or regular milk if you don’t mind dairy. Sweetened with honey, it’s the perfect sweet treat. 🙂
