My adventures in cooking for one continues! Similar to my waffles for one post, I needed a french toast for one recipe. Since my husband doesn’t like waffles it isn’t that surprising that he isn’t a fan of french toast either. He isn’t big on sweets in general and maple syrup is super weird to him. When I was at the grocery store last week I found chocolate chip brioche on sale and the very first thing that popped into my head was that I needed to make french toast with it. And here we are, french toast for one!
Since I took off of work this year, I’ve had way more opportunities to sleep in late and indulge in some good ol’ brunch! Not so bad right? I’m a total night owl so I’m loving that I can sleep in. I still have a lot of work to do for school but it’s nice to be on my own schedule for the most part. My husband is always at work during the day so I can cook all of the foods he doesn’t really like to eat for breakfast and lunch!
I whipped this up really quickly in the morning and it tasted amazing. You can add all kinds of things to french toast to jazz it up but I’m a fan of the traditional flavors. It’s delicious without all the extra stuff! I always have an egg, some heavy cream, sugar and vanilla in my pantry so I don’t even need to really prepare to make this. Kinda dangerous to the waistline to be able to make french toast whenever you want though! 😉
Speaking of making french toast for one… do you eat the butt or the heel of bread? I always do but my husband never does. It’s all bread to me so I didn’t understand when he wouldn’t eat it haha. What about you?
