My baking obsession has hit again! It is 106 degrees here in Indiana so I honestly do not want to use the oven or stove for anything because the world is literally baking. To top it off, my air conditioning is not strong enough for the heat apparantly. For the last week the bedroom has been getting very little air conditioning and we have been using a fan between the door to suck in the cold air from the living room. Then the heat reached above 100 and the air conditioning kept working but never lowered the temperature… so the apartment stayed between 84 to 88 degrees! I was miserable. 🙁
Nothing better than a little cake that doesn’t require baking to cheer me up! I found this recipe for Nescafe cake on Amnah’s blog and I knew I had to make it. I love tiramisu but I rarely have the ingredients on hand to make it… this cake is a super yummy adaption that satisfied my craving without having to spend a lot of money to get more ingredients. Also, I love instant Nescafe coffee. It reminds me of lazy summer mornings in Egypt by the sea.
How I miss those days of waking up late, making a hot cup of Nescafe and sitting on the swing on the porch watching the waves roll in. I met my husband during this time so the memories are extra sweet. 😉 So nescafe cake? Sheer perfection.
This nescafe cake is delicious, enough said. Head on over to Amnah’s website This Little Life of Mine to get the recipe and see her lovely pictures of her cake! I’ll be eating a slice of this cake while reminiscing about my days on the beach and wishing I was there!
