Are you ready to indulge in a delicious Manneken Belgian Waffle? 😉
Hmm, Manneken Belgian Waffle. A waffle shop sent from heaven! I first stumbled upon this small shop in Okayama station, when I was first exploring Okayama. Right when I went up the steps at the train station I was hit with this wonderful buttery smell that had me drooling. I went a little crazy sniffing around to find the culprit of this heavenly smell. And there it was, Manneken Belgian Waffle!
I didn’t buy any that day, but the smell of those waffles haunted me, I swear. I was practically salivating while waiting in line to finally get some. I opted for the sweet potato waffle and the caramel milk waffle. The caramel milk waffle is the flavor for November I believe. They also have other flavors like maple, almond, chocolate and plain. They all looked delicious! They are pretty affordable too; all of the waffles were under 200 yen, or around $2.50USD.

Hmm, look at those crispy edges around the soft inside. Now this was a waffle. The smell is enough to drive you crazy, but the taste was out of this world delicious! Can you tell I was impressed? 😉
The caramel milk flavor is a crispy caramel waffle with milk icing and bits of caramel on top. It was pretty sweet and a little overwhelming, but delicious! I guess I got used to the less sweet desserts in Japan. Nevertheless, the taste was really good. The sweet potato wasn’t as sweet as the caramel milk waffle and it was really nice. It was less of a dessert and rather a normal snack. I really enjoyed it!
There are so many great bakeries in Okayama, I always feel like I’m finding delicious baked goods at every corner.
I’ll definitely be returning to Manneken Belgian Waffle again!
