I know, I know. Autumn goes to another bakery? No surprise there. I can’t help it! I’m a sucker for beautifully presented pastries. Presentation and packaging in general are really important to me, so resisting Japanese bakeries with their beautifully displayed breads and sugary treats is basically impossible. If I find a new bakery, I have to try it! This time, I ran into Fusaya Bakery.
Fusaya Bakery itself wasn’t really anything special. I was on my way to Okayama library on my bike when I saw it. It’s across from the library diagonally and I was feeling hungry so why not? Honestly I wasn’t impressed at first… the bakery didn’t have much in it and it looked a little institutional because there weren’t many decorations and so many areas were bare. One corner was stocked with different types of breads so I decided to give it a fair chance. The things they had out did look yummy!
I creeped around and took a few pictures as inconspicuously as I could. I always feel so awkward taking pictures in food places here… I see a lot of people taking pictures on their phone often but my DSLR is really obvious when I walk in. I’m sure there has to be bloggers out there, right? I should just own it! I try to take pictures quickly but I want to get the perfect shot… so they end up noticing me anyways.
I settled on an orange cream bread. I love citrus and custard together! Since they were closing, I just took it with me to the library and ate it there. Like a rebel. I was hungry and I needed to write a paper! Believe me, I was salivating all the way there. A two minute walk, haha. Good thing I found Fusaya Bakery on my way!
I don’t know much about Fusaya Bakery, but I don’t think it is a huge chain. Their speciality seems to be bread since most of the items inside were types of bread. The bread I had tasted like cream bread, also known as delicious. 😉 There was just a little custard inside, which was sad. But overall it was delicious! The bread itself really saved it because it tasted so good. I feel like that doesn’t happen that often. My sweet tooth was satisfied. ♥
