Today was such an awesome day. I slept in and woke up to beautiful weather. I love Fall!
Since I was up relatively early and the weather was amazing, it was definitely a day for the farmer’s market! I drug the hubby out of the house with me. It was perfect weather to walk in and browse all of the stalls open. There was live music, handmade crafts and tons of inexpensive veggies. We went during the last hour of the farmer’s market, so I took most of the time to browse through each stall and make mental notes of who had the freshest looking produce with the best price. I bought everything just before it was closing, so I got better deals than most due to the the people wishing to get rid of leftover stock. I can’t complain!
So how did I end up? I spent a total of $11 and got a lot of good stuff. 🙂
It looks good right? Even I was surprised with how good the produce looked this week. Best of all, the prices were awesome. For some reason, I bought everything at the cheapest price I had ever seen it. Usually they run much higher.
Here is the lovely price breakdown:
Bloomingfoods Whole Wheat Bread: $3 (originally $6, 1/2 price due to market closing)
Bloomingfoods Banana Nut Muffin: $1 (originally $2.50, sale due to market closing)
Two Yellow Peppers: 75¢ each, total $1.50
Red Pepper: 50¢
Two Eggplants: $1 for the large, 50¢ for the medium
Butternut Squash: 75¢
Starter Basil: $2
Zucchini: 75¢
I’m definitely satisfied. Can’t wait for next weeks farmers market, lets hope that the weather stays cool.
