My blog has been really travel themed lately… I’ve been back from Japan for awhile now but I still miss it everyday! I have so many pictures to post on my blog, so I’ve been reflecting back on a lot of my experiences and sharing them with my lovely readers. I actually started writing a lot of posts a long time ago, but I was so busy there!
I thought I would break up the travel posts with a beauty post! I have so many items that I grab when there is a good sale, so I don’t get to a lot of new items for awhile. I pulled out a jar of Dr. Young’s Anti-Dryness Sugar and Cereal Scrub to give it a try since my skin has been going through a little crisis lately and I thought it might be nice to switch it up.
Dr. Young is a Korean brand that is quite expensive. Honestly, I hadn’t heard much about this brand and I don’t see it around anywhere. I was restocking a few essentials on Sasa.com and I just stumbled upon this in the sale section. This scrub is expensive! The jar holds 60 grams of product, and retails for $35. Luckily, this scrub was on super discount at Sasa for like $10 so I couldn’t resist giving it a try, especially with the original price tag!
The box lists a ton of great ingredients and their benefits for the skin. I was a little sad to see that this scrub has parabens and BHT. I’ve heard a lot of not so great things about BHT. Most of these types of things have preservatives, so I gave it a try anyways.
The jar has a screw off cap that reveals a lid that covers the scrub to keep it very hygienic. It also had a spatula, but I dropped it somewhere and lost it so I just used a spare one that I had. Very easy to use and store!
The scrub was honestly not what I expected texture wise… it is almost like a jelly and the exfoliation is very gentle. This would be perfect for people with sensitive skin! A little goes a long way and it really sinks into your skin.
The scrub recommends that you massage the scrub on your face and lips for around 2-3 minutes, with the option of leaving it on your skin for up to 5 minutes for a more moist feeling. I went ahead and kept it on for the full five minutes because my skin has been going crazy lately and needed a little extra TLC.

The product claims to affect several things for the face. My face was quite red before and after, but it was reduced after the scrub. My skin felt tighter, moist and less inflamed. My skin had that very clean and new feeling without any irritation due to the very fine powder used as an exfoliant in this scrub. Even my acne spots went down a lot!
The best part about the scrub though was that my face just appeared much more brighter and smoother, as expected from an exfoliating scrub. I can only imagine that once my skin calms down, the results will be even better!
Have you tried any products from the Dr. Young line?
