The Han River is a huge symbol of Seoul. It’s length spans many neighborhoods and with green initiatives, it’s always a crowded area filled with families and couples doing some walking, riding bikes, and having picnics. There are even pedestrian roads under the bridges that make it easy to cross from one side to the other if you are walking or riding your bike.
The bike paths along the Han River are really accessible and so fun to bike on! Plus, you can’t beat the view. I hate exercising in the gym, but walking around or riding my bike with a beautiful view doesn’t seem like effort at all. It gets crowded during certain times of the day, but nothing too crazy. It feels nice to all bike together actually. I like to ride my bike and take my lunch with me to eat in whatever nice area I see. It’s impressive how easily you can bike from one end of Seoul to the other!
You can rent a bike at several parks along the Han River for a small fee with your ID. If you don’t want to deal with the hassle of getting your bike to the Han River it’s worth it because the regular Seoul roads aren’t too bike friendly and there are a lot of steep areas. You don’t need to worry about anything once you are there because there are always convenience stores along the paths where you can grab a snack or water. It’s a great way to exercise and enjoy the beauty of nature!
